While I agree with your assessment of the risks, I cannot imagine a scenario where the FTC (or any other regulatory body) takes actions that meaningfully prevent bad scenarios from happening... this really is Pandora's box, and we seem to be hell-bent on opening it up as quickly as we can before peeking inside.
