I'm not sure that it will take away all motivation, nor that things will get worse than they are at present, but I do agree that things are undoubtedly going to change. I'm less concerned by Copilot or Tabnine - I think they're more beneficial than harmful, and I think they're going to help us focus on the more interesting aspects of software development - but the idea that anyone would treat LLM's like ChatGPT as reliable sources of information is literally terrifying.
