I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "led to inflation because it went directly into consumers' pockets" - that sounds to me like the opposite of "because it wasn't paid for by taxing the very wealthy and the corporations", but maybe I'm just not understanding the discourse...

I read through the article you linked. That's a very long answer to a very short question and although it's full of interesting ideas, I'm not sure I'm seeing the big picture. Either here in this response or on your article, I would very much appreciate a brief layperson's summary of how you envision your solution playing out!
