I'm curious, have you made an honest attempt at applying empathy to your fellow countrymen who are doing these things you present as being due to a lack of empathy?

Have you, for example, considered trying to understand why illegal immigration scares them, and what dangers they may feel they're up against? From your article it feels like you're just assuming the worst of them, that they must be xenophobic. Meanwhile, we're seeing criminals (bad people who commit violent crimes, as opposed to the good people who only commit the crime of immigrating illegally) setting up shop in your country, and foreign terrorists inciting anti-semitic and anti-west protests and burning your flag and brainwashing your kids to a revised history, and from the outside it looks like liberals are showing a particularly selective brand of empathy for only those kinds of others.
