If we really cared about saving the planet and ourselves we'd stop eating animals, do a fast switch to nuclear power and stop fighting over ridiculous things like lines on a map.

That's not happening.

In the meanwhile, these guys - who are not achieving anything alone - are making a play for us to become a spacefaring species. If they succeed, they can buy the rest of us the time we need to evolve and learn to stop shooting ourselves in the feet. If they don't succeed, they're contributing massively to our general level of technology.

If we're all worried about burning rubber and wasted money, we should maybe look to our governments who are being paid off to keep us locked in to fossil fuels.
