I think of paying for content as a means to thank the producers for content I appreciate. If I've watched or listened to or read something I appreciate, I'm happy to put down money in the vain hope that some portion of it will trickle down to the actual producers, but I've long given up on the notion that my digital libraries somehow "belong" to me.

Having said that, I would probably cry if something were to happen to my Steam library.
No, scratch that: I would definitely cry.
