Excellent article, thank you!

I've read that "junk" DNA is actually the parts of our genome that are recoded epigentically, ie. in response to environmental influences. I was under the impression that when we get sick with a virus, that that's where the immune response we develop is "remembered"... I'm curious to hear your thoughts on that.
