damn, dude, i hear you. although our stories are very different, there are some significant similarities (i was a six-year foreign lone soldier released at 29, spent two+ years being a superman, moved to canada and left a toxic environment on bad terms that crushed me into a hard-reset depression). eight years later, i've now spent 1.5 years trying to get permission for my wife and kid to come to israel with me, and your article has inspired two things:
1. we should probably start a support group if there isn't already one (do you know of any?)
2. it's long overdue that i write down some of my own stories
