As someone who initially went plant-based for health reasons, I find it utterly bizarre that people are so (literally) hell-bent on justifying and consuming animal products when their production is the primary driver of almost all of the worst of our activities that influence climate change. Whether it's the deforestation and planting of monoculture crops to feed the animals, the extreme usage and pollution of our water sources, the unrestrained use of antibiotics, the high density battery farming and wet markets that are really just enormous petri dishes for constructing new viruses... we could rapidly and dramatically reduce our carbon footprint and risk of more viruses coming through, as well as feed the world, if we could just get it together and get off animal consumption together.
