I've never noticed this! A few years ago a dentist sent me on a deep dive into dental care with regards optimal times to brush one's teeth, and I learned that it's actually really important to brush before eating or drinking anything in the morning in order to enjoy the protective effect of the fluoride and avoid brushing away enamel that's been softened by acidic things like coffee or orange juice.
While I agree with everything else in this article, I'm wondering why you wouldn't consider a GitHub profile to be a source of useful data? Stars in GitHub are an acknowlegement of quality and utility of a repository to others.
In general, I find that GitHub tells me a lot…
I'm always concerned when people try to resolve ideological / social / cultural problems like industrialism, consumerism, hyperindividualism and greed by going after the only functional economic system there is.
Socialism and communism will not help anyone, certainly not in the long run, and capitalism (as an economic system, not as a belief system) not only accepts ideas like welfare and UBI, but looking at the data actively encourages it (see https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4046466/). What we need - desperately - is not an economic overhaul, rather a political one.
I do believe that a quiet revolution is taking place, and has been taking place since we all embraced the internet a mere two decades ago. People are waking up to the catastrophic consequences of living in societies without healthy social values.
